Annette Webb, Administrative Associate to Dean Grover, and Alicia Lax, FCBE Business Officer, were given the George Johnson Staff Enrichment Awards. Each year, these awards are distributed to two non-faculty members who exceed performance duties. They each received a plaque and a check for $5,000.

The Fogelman College Awards were given to the members of the continuous improvement committee for their critical assistance to revising and improving the Roles & Rewards document that details the requirements for annual evaluations, promotions to full professor and the tenure process. This committee includes Dr. Mark Gillenson, Dr. David Spiceland, Dr. Cyril Chang, Dr. Sandra Mortal, Dr. Barbara Davis, Dr. Mehdi Amini and Dr. Leonard Jackson. Also during this meeting, the revised version of the Roles & Rewards document was accepted by the voting faculty. These revisions will dramatically impact the level of research performed and published by our faculty members, and ultimately raise the bar for the College itself.

Dr. Shawn Jones was recognized for his recent achievement of winning the University of Memphis Alumni Distinguished Teaching Award. The Alumni Association Distinguished Teaching Awards recognize professors based on the high quality of their teaching. It is a highly selective process that involves student, faculty and alumni involvement and recommendations. Only four faculty members are selected throughout the University annually.

Dr. Leonard Jackson was the recipient of the Thomas W. Briggs Excellence in Teaching Award, a highly prestigious University award.

Finally, faculty members were recognized based on the tenure of their service to the College. These recipients received a certificate and a monetary check in appreciation of their commitment. Please see below for the list of recognized individuals:
