International Paper Targets and Recruits FCBE Students
Five Fogelman College supply chain management undergraduate students were recently recruited and hired by International Paper (IP). International Paper is one of the leading companies in the paper and packaging industry with manufacturing operations in North American, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa.

Jonathan Bienz was hired as a transportation planner based out of the Memphis corporate offices. Elham Mohammad, Megan Gwatney, Minsoo Kim and Adam Wicker were all hired as global sourcing associates based out of Valliant, OK, Savannah, GA, Texarkana, TX and Memphis, TN, respectively. Bienz and Mohammad graduated during the fall 2012 semester; whereas Gwatney, Kim and Wicker were graduates of the spring 2013 class.

According to IP’s recruitment offices, the University of Memphis is now considered one of their "target schools" for supply chain management majors.

“Our department strives to prepare our students with real-world knowledge and applicable skill sets for the supply chain management industry. Upon graduation our students are business-ready and this makes them attractive marketable to major companies, such as International Paper,” said Dr. Ernie Nichols, an Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management and Coordinator of the SCM Program in the Marketing & Supply Chain Management Department.
