Accommodations
Rooms are available in an air-conditioned dormitory within walking distance of the
Institute. The cost includes linens. There is no charge for children under two years
of age. Parking passes can be purchased at the Richardson Towers desk upon arrival.
Participants staying in dormitories should bring pillows, towels, washcloths, and
blankets. No refunds for late arrivals or early departures. The Holiday Inn at the University of Memphis is located across the street from the
Music Building at 3700 Central Ave. All guest rooms are two-room suites. A special
discount rate of $125 per night is available through the Institute. Limited space

Meals
Meals are the responsibility of the participant. Meals are available on campus at
the Tiger Den (buffet), University Center (food court), Richardson Towers (cafeteria),
and nearby restaurants.
Sunday evening, we will provide a pizza dinner for all Institute participants. Other
family members may order a pizza dinner for $5.00. Please indicate this on the registration
form. Each pizza dinner includes 2 slices from a variety of pizzas, dessert, and
a drink.
Monday evening, there will be a cook-out for all Institute participants. Other family
members may order a meal for $5.00. Please indicate this on the registration form.
Meal will include choice of hamburger, cheeseburger or hot dog, chips, cake, and a
drink.
The Campus
The campus of the University of Memphis offers excellent educational and recreational
facilities to its students. The Institute is held on the main campus of the University
and all buildings are within a short walking distance of one another.
Area Attractions
A wide variety of restaurants are within a short driving distance, as are many major
attractions in the city, including the Children's Museum, IMAX Theater and Pink Palace
Museum, National Civil Rights Museum, Botanical Gardens, Memphis Zoo, Graceland, and
Dixon Gallery and Gardens.
Financial Aid The Community Music School has a limited number of financial aid awards available
to assist families in need. Financial aid awards are partial (10%, 15% and 30% off
tuition/fees), and eligibility is determined by gross household income and number
of household members. Financial aid awards are distributed on a first-come, first-served
basis and are funded as long as there are available resources. For more information

Refund Policy
If a student withdraws prior to May 25, a full refund of tuition will be made. No
refunds, full or partial, will be made after May 25. Registration fee, extra Sunday
pizza dinner fees, extra cook-out dinner fees and extra t-shirt fees are non-refundable.
