Adequate space and materials are required to prepare Campus School’s students for college, for successful careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), and for a bright future in the global information economy.  The College of Education seeks to convert an existing University auxiliary building into additional Campus School classrooms and a state-of-the-art learning lab.  This space will serve as an advanced training ground as we continue to prepare students at both the elementary and college levels. Specifically, the “Training Annex” will expand learning opportunities currently limited by space and logistics by offering students enhanced STEM skills, as well as a greater appreciation of global languages, diversity and cultures.  To achieve this, the Training Annex will house the following classroom opportunities:

  • Expand students’ opportunities for advanced science, math and technology literacy
  • Strengthen students’ STEM skills, promote success in applied courses in middle and high school, and ultimately encourage their interest in science, math and technology careers
  • Promote greater awareness of the world around them through environmental science

  • Enhance the social studies program to include integrated trans-global classroom partnerships
  • Provide an open space for experiential activities for students to learn by doing
  • Encourage an appreciation of language, diversity, and culture

  • Expand goals of literacy through integrated technology
  • Increase writing proficiency through opportunities for multi-media formats, presentations and publishing opportunities
  • Expand opportunities for virtual learning systems
