The Center for Academic Retention and Enrichment Services (CARES) provides academic support programming and services to improve the academic success of The University of Memphis students. Through both academic and non-academic services, CARES seeks to enrich skills to increase student success, decrease the number of students being academically dismissed from The University of Memphis, promote academic excellence, and improve timely graduation. CARES personnel also monitor the academic progression of students through their return to Academic Good Standing.

READMISSION: If you applied for readmission for Spring 2014 and have been referred to CARES by Admissions, you can meet with a CARES counselor for your readmission interview from:

Monday, December 16th to Friday, December 20th from 8:30am-4pm
Monday, January 6th to Thursday, January 9th from 8:30am-5pm
Friday, January 10th from 8:30am-4pm
Monday, January 13th and Wednesday, January 15th from 8:30am-5pm

• Please bring a picture ID to the appointment.
• Additional information will be sent in an appointment confirmation email so that you are prepared for your readmission appointment.
• Transcripts for classes taken at other colleges and universities must be received by Admissions before your scheduled appointment, and all grades must be final (not in progress) on the transcript.
• Spring 2014 readmission applications must be on file prior to the December 1, 2013, deadline.
• Per university policy, students whose last academic standing was academic probation or suspension must be registered for classes before the first day of the term (Thursday, January 16, for Spring 2014).

ORIENTATION: Students who were recommended for readmission by CARES are required to attend a CARES Orientation session. Information regarding these sessions are available on the CARES Orientation page.

CARES Spring 2014 walk-in Status Appeals will begin January 6 and will end January 15, 2014. No suspension appeals will be heard after classes begin on January 16, 2014. No Exceptions!

8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Transcripts for classes taken at other colleges must be received by Admissions prior to the review for readmissions or transfer.
