Alumni Spotlight: Sue Reid Williams

A native Memphian and an alumna of Central High School, Sue Reid Williams has long been a proponent of the University of Memphis. Although not a graduate, she has experienced two stints as a student, while serving the U of M in numerous capacities.

"I've always said the University of Memphis is the best kept secret in Memphis," said Williams. "From the Libraries and the history and resources they offer, to fabulous musical and theatrical productions, to community lectures, research and scholarship, the impact of the University is remarkable."

Though involved across campus, Williams is particularly drawn to the University Libraries where she has served as a board member and President of the Friends of the Libraries and has been a donor for over 20 years. In addition, she is a Lifetime Member of the Alumni Association, a donor to many other initiatives and a recent inductee into the Society of the Shield, recognizing her lifetime giving to the University.

"The University of Memphis is a special place, and my involvement with Libraries and Friends programs have made me even more passionate in that belief," said Williams.  "I will always be a supporter."
