Alumni Spotlight: Conrad Gibson (BBA '11)

Conrad Gibson graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Fogelman College of Business and Economics with a Bachelors in Business Administration focused in Hospitality and Resort Management in May of 2011. He currently works at the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley at East Palo Alto as a Rooms Division Manager. Conrad is the first graduate from the University of Memphis’ Kemmons Wilson School of Hospitality to be placed into a management position with a 5-star hotel chain upon graduation since the schools inception in 2002.

During his time at the University of Memphis, Conrad was on many leadership boards including the Future Alumni of Memphis (FAM) as the Director of Events and the Student Ambassador Board (SAB) as the VP of Programming. Through his time on both boards, Conrad was able to interact with students and alumni across a broad range of experience levels and had the opportunity to attend many events sponsored by the Alumni Association and the office of President Raines. These interactions and networking with the University of Memphis community led to many opportunities and internships.

 When asked why remaining connected to the University of Memphis was so important, Conrad stated that each internship opportunity he received was through Alumni of the University of Memphis. “This just goes to show how strongly knit our Alumni community really is. Memphis takes care of its own and I couldn’t be where I was today without the amazing opportunities that were offered to me though my connections with Memphis Alumni.”
