FAM Peabody Rooftop Party
Start this school year off right! Homecoming 2011
The Alumni Association will host the annual Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally on Friday, September 23, on the U of M Campus. The parade will begin at 5:30 pm followed by a pep rally at 6:30 pm. Parking is available at the Southern Ave. and Central Ave. parking lots. 2011 Parent of the Year
The University of Memphis Alumni Association Parents Club invites students to nominate parents or guardians whose lives have been an inspiration to their student and others as the Parent of the Year. CLICK HERE for more information and to download a nomination form. Applications are due by 4 pm on Friday, September 16. Nominators will be notified by Monday, September 19, if their nominee was selected as a winner.

Half Century Club Homecoming Reunion
On Friday, September 23, the Half Century Club will enjoy a full day of Homecoming activities including a meet and greet at the Alumni Center, brunch and a medallion ceremony at the home of University President Shirley C. Raines, a tour or the campus, and a Golden Reception at the Alumni Center. The cost is $35 per person. Luther C. McClellan Black Alumni Chapter Homecoming Celebration
The Luther C. McClellan Black Alumni Chapter will join in the Homecoming 2011 fun with its annual Alumni Step Show showcasing stepping skills of current students and returning alumni on Friday, September 23, in the Rose Theatre immediately following the Homecoming Pep Rally. The cost is $10 for Alumni Association members and students (with membership card or student ID) and $15 for not-yet-members. Proceeds benefit the LCM Scholarship Fund.

Join the Luther C. McClellan Black Alumni Chapter for a Homecoming Party immediately following the Homecoming Step Show on Friday, September 23, at 10 pm at 409 South Main. Admission is $10 for Alumni Association members, $15 for not-yet-members, and $20 for everyone after midnight. Proceeds benefit the LCM Scholarship Fund.

IMBA Alumni Club
The International MBA Alumni Club will host Happy Hour at the Fox and Hound restaurant on Sanderlin Wednesday, September 28, at 6 pm. Come meet your IMBA Alumni Board members and reconnect with old friends. This is a very informal gathering, and will be a great networking opportunity. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided. Law Alumni Chapter
The Cecil C Humphreys School of Law Alumni Chapter will offer a CLE on October 6,  Protecting the Vulnerable: Demystifying Probate, at the University of Memphis Law School downtown. The all-day CLE is worth 6 hours credit, one of which is Ethics, and will conclude with an evening cocktail reception. The Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law Alumni Club will host its Law Reunion Weekend for classes ending in “1 or 6” at the Westin Downtown on Friday and Saturday, October 14-15. Festivities include a VIP Party before the 2011 Men’s Basketball Memphis Madness, tours of the Law School, and a cocktail reception on Saturday night. Arts and Sciences Alumni Chapter Outstanding Alumni Awards
The College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Board will host an Outstanding Alumni Awards Dinner on Thursday, October 13, at 6pm in the University Center Ballroom. The 2011 award recipients are Dr. Diane Allen (BA '73), Kirk Caraway (BA ’94, JD ’97), Stacey Greenberg (MA '03), and Darlene Winters (BA '76, MA '79). Journalism Alumni Club Outstanding Alumni Awards
The Outstanding Journalism Alumni Awards Dinner will be held the evening of Thursday, October 27, in the Tennessee Ballroom at the Holiday Inn on campus. The Charles E. Thornton Award will be presented to Will King (BA ’74) of CNN and journalist Richard Copley (BS ’69). The Herbert Lee Williams Award will be given to former professor L. Dupre Long. Also, the inaugural Outstanding Young Alumni Award will be presented to author Johanna Edwards (BA ’01). The program will feature guest speaker Natalie Allen, anchor for CNN International and former co-anchor for WREG-TV in Memphis. Emmy Award-winning Meteorologist Ron Childers with Action News 5 will be the emcee for the event.Cocktail reception will begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and awards program at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person or $475 for a table or 10. FCBE Alumni Day Luncheon
The FCBE Alumni Chapter will host its annual Alumni Day Luncheon on Wednesday, November 2 at 11:30 am at the Holiday Inn, University of Memphis. Join the FCBE Alumni Chapter as we honor Outstanding Alumnus Morgan Morton (BBA ‘63), retired SVP Warner Lambert/Pfizer; Outstanding Alumna Emily Greer (MBA ‘06), SVP for Human Resources at ALSAC/St. Jude; and Distinguished Friend of the College Douglas Browne, GM/Vice President Peabody Hotel. Young Alumni Committee True Blue 5K
The Young Alumni Committee will host its 5th Annual True Blue 5K on November 4, at 7 pm, on the campus of the University of Memphis. All proceeds from the race will go to support the work of the Young Alumni Committee and its commitment to encourage alumni interaction, engage current students, and raise money for the Young Alumni Legacy Scholarship.
