Alumni Association's Homecoming Pep Rally
Friday, October 19 at 6:30 pm
Continue the Homecoming celebration at the Association's Pep Rally on Friday, October 19, 6:30 pm, with special guest Athletic Director Tom Bowen, as well as the Alumni Association's True Blue Tradition Award recipients and the Parents of the Year. Located at the end of the parade route at the Plaza Fountain near the Administration Building. Food provided from the Thomas Boggs (BA '72) Family of Huey's Restaurants and drinks provided by Pepsi. Parking is available at the Southern Ave. and Central Ave. parking lots.

Life Member Appreciation Party

Home of President Shirley Raines
Join the Alumni Association to kick off the Centennial Homecoming as we appreciate our Tigers for Life. This is an outdoor event, and the attire is Tiger Blue business casual. Outstanding Journalism Alumni Awards
The Outstanding Journalism Alumni Awards Dinner will be held the evening of Thursday, October 18, in the Tennessee Ballroom at the Holiday Inn on Campus. The Charles E. Thornton Award will be presented to photographer Battle Vaughan (BS ‘65) and public relations professional Rikki Boyce (BA ‘74). The Herbert Lee Williams Award will be given to the former head of the UM Photo Services Department, Gilbert Michael. The Outstanding Young Alumni Award will be presented to sports journalist Gary Parrish (BA ‘99). The Emerging Journalist Award will be presented to Chelsea Boozer, current editor-in-chief of the Daily Helmsman. The guest speaker will be Otis Sanford, former Commercial Appeal editor, current U of M Hardin Chair of Excellence in Journalism and professor at the University of Memphis.Action News 5 News Anchor Joe Birch will serve as the emcee for the event. Cocktail reception will begin at 6 pm followed by dinner and the awards program at 7 pm. Ticket prices are $55 per individual and $525 for a table of 10 if purchased before October 1. Class of 1962 Reunion activities
Friday, October 19, 9:30 am
The Alumni Association will honor the Class of 1962 on Friday, October 19 with a variety of activities throughout the day. Class of 1962 members are invited to a Meet and Greet at the Alumni Center, followed by a Half Century Club induction ceremony, medallion presentation, and brunch at the home of U of M President Shirley Raines. Guests will enjoy a tour of the campus and a Golden Reception at the Alumni Center. The cost is $30 for Alumni Association members and $35 for not-yet members. Half Century Club Golden Reception

The Half Century Club and Alumni Association will host the Golden Reception for graduates of the class of 1962 and all previous years on Friday, October 19 in the Alumni Center. All graduates and class friends of 50 or more years are welcome to attend. Luther C. McClellan Black Alumni Chapter Homecoming Step Show
Friday, October 19, immediately following the Pep Rally
The Luther C. McClellan Black Alumni Chapter will join in the Centennial Homecoming fun with their annual AlumniStep Show showcasing stepping skills of current students and returning alumni on Friday, October 19, in the Elma Roane Field House. Doors open at 7:30 pm. Proceeds benefit the LCM Scholarship Fund.

Band Alumni Chapter
On Friday, October 19, Band Alumni are invited to participate in the Parade followed by a meet and greet with the current and former band directors. Kemmons Wilson Alumni Club Tailgate
Before the Homecoming game on Saturday, October 20, the Kemmons Wilson School Alumni Club will host a tailgate in Tiger Lane, Lot F214, at 5 pm.
