Herff College of Engineering Alumni Chapter
The Engineering Alumni Chapter will host a Professional Development Seminar on Thursday, November 21, at 12:00 noon. This one-hour webinar will feature Kathryn H. Simpson presenting FDA Medical Device Regulations 101 - An Industry Perspective. Participants can watch the webinar online or join us for a box lunch in the IFTI Conference Room in the Engineering Admin Building. The cost is $10 per person. EXTENDED DEADLINE: Call for Nominations
: The Herff College of Engineering Alumni Chapter will host its annual silent auction in the Spring at the College’s 50th Awards Dinner. Although the date for the event has yet to be set, the nomination process for the Outstanding Alumni Award and Engineering Achievement Award has begun. Click here to download a nomination form. Enjoy breakfast with the UMAR Book Club on Tuesday, November 26, at 11 am at The Green Grove before discussing this month's literary work, And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini. The book club meets on the fourth Tuesday of every other month. For more information contact or 901-678-1333.

On the first Tuesday of each month, the UMAR Breakfast Bunch gathers at 9 am for a casual breakfast at the Perkins Restaurant & Bakery located in the Eastgate Shopping Center, at 5112 Park Avenue. The next meeting will be Tuesday, December 3. All UMAR members and U of M retirees are welcome. The cost of breakfast is on your own.

The annual UMAR Holiday Brunch & Silent Auction will be held on Tuesday, December 10.

Join UMAR for a trip to the Lambuth Campus on Thursday, January 30. The Blue Line bus will depart the Alumni Center at 8:30 am return sometime in the afternoon. Dean Lattimore will lead a tour of the campus and give a talk about U of M's extended programs. The cost is $15; lunch will be provided by the Lambuth 'campus. Spend Thanksgiving with the Tigers in Orlando!
The U of M Alumni Association will host a Tiger Thanksgiving Feast on Thursday, November 28, at 12:30 pm ET in the Sun Ballroom of the Gaylord Palms Resort. The Alumni Association is covering the majority of the meal costs, but to secure a reservation, guests must RSVP and remit a $20 payment or $10 for children under 12. True Blue Tailgates

Join the LCM Alumni Chapter for a Homecoming Reunion on Thursday, November 7 through Saturday, November 9. Pouncer's Pals
Pouncer is inviting all Pals and their guests to the Pouncer’s Pals Holiday Bash on Saturday, December 7, from 1-3 pm in the Alumni Center, located at 635 Normal Street. Each pal will also be invited to pose with Pouncer for a fun holiday photo and to help us make holiday cards to send to our active Tiger Alumni troops overseas. We will also have special guests including veterans from World War II, Vietnam, and Afghanistan, who will be reading, teaching the Pals a proper salute, and making cards along with our Pouncer’s Pals. Hispanic Alumni Council
The Hispanic Alumni Council’s (HAC) next board meeting will be Wednesday, January 15, at 5:30 p.m, at the Alumni Center on 635 Normal Street. This board meeting is open to all who express an interest in the Hispanic Alumni Council and its initiative to build and connect a network of Hispanic alumni from the University of Memphis and to foster scholarships for students at the University of Memphis. Journalism Alumni Club
The Journalism Alumni Chapter recently hosted its annual Outstanding Journalism Alumni Awards Luncheon. They presented the Charles E. Thornton Award to Mark Henry (BA ’82), Co-founder and Owner of Signature Marketing Solutions, and Bonnie Kourvelas (BA ’81), Communications Advisor for FedEx Services.  The Herbert Lee Williams Award was presented to Dan Lattimore, Vice Provost for Extended Programs and Dean of University College at The University of Memphis.  The Outstanding Young Alumni Award was given to Angela Craig (BA ’94), Vice President of Global Human Resources for St. Jude Medical.
