This year the Chapter will honor six Pillars of Excellence from within the Memphis law community including: Hon. Arthur T. Bennett, Hon. David R. Farmer (BBA '63, JD '66), Albert C. Harvey, Charles F. Newman, Max Shelton, and Maurice Wexler. Scholarships

The Law Alumni Chapter funds several student scholarships including the Law Alumni Honor Student Scholarship, the Pillars of Excellence Law Alumni Scholarship, the Law Alumni Scholarship Award, and the Excellence in Legal Education Award. CLE Seminar
Friday, November 22
The Law Alumni Chapter hosted the Continuing Legal Education Seminar - Trial Skills: The Basics from Veterans. Speakers included Gary K. Smith, David Cook, Rusty Reviere, Steve E. Farese, Sr., Leo Bearman, Jr., and Tim R. Discenza.

Law Alumni Chapter Judicial Reception
Thursday, November 7
The Law Alumni Chapter honored federal, state and local judiciaries and the 2013 Graduates of the School of Law at a wonderful reception held at the Shelby County Courthouse.

Pillars of Excellence Dinner presented by Ballin, Ballin & Fishman, PC
The Chapter honored five Pillars of Excellence from within the Memphis law community including: Marvin Ballin (JD ’63), Marion “Boots” BoydR. Grattan Brown, Jr., Hon. Ronald L. Gilman, and Hon. Charles O. McPherson (BS ’64, JD ’65). The Belz Family was honored as Friends of the Law School. View Photos

Law Alumni Chapter CLE: "All Things Housing"
The Law Alumni Chapter hosted a Continuing Legal Education Seminar in July. Speakers included Sapna Raj, Webb Brewer, Anne Viner, Roger Stone, Donny Blackwell, Lucian Pera and James Stock.

Law Spring Reception 
The Law Alumni Chapter, law school faculty, staff and students gathered in mid-April at the home of Judge Childers for an annual spring reception. To view photos from the evening,click here

Law Week Launch Party 
The Law Alumni Chapter will co-hosted the Law Week Launch Party, a gathering of local legal organizations, in Court Square. Canned goods and monetary donations at the event helped support the Mid-South Food Bank.

Race Judicata 5K Run/Walk
The Law alumni chapter recently hosted the Race Judicata at the Mississippi River Park, which benefitted Memphis Area Legal Services (MALS). Memphis Area Legal Services provides free legal service to the elderly and low income families. 

Judicial Reception
The Law Alumni Chapter honored members of the local, state and federal judiciaries in early November. The reception also celebrated the recent bar admittees from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law Class of 2012. View Photos

Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law 50th Anniversary Celebration
The Law Alumni Chapter and the School of Law celebrated the 50th Anniversary in style in October. Fellow alumni, current and former professors and deans, and members of the legal community enjoyed food from Memphis-area restaurants and music from the decades. Click here for more information. Class Reunions
Members of the classes of 1984, 1992, and 1997 held class reunions in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the School of Law in October.
