I honestly chose the University of Memphis because it was far from home! It gave me a chance to be independent from my family, and has more than exceeded my expectations. I have become involved in projects and organizations that interest me, found a group of friends who will be lifelong, and explored a city that has a lot to offer.

Registration Procedures
First Time Freshmen:

Attend Orientation

Incoming first-time freshmen for fall semester are required to attend an orientation session.  Orientation sessions are scheduled from late-spring through mid-summer.  You will receive notification from the Recruitment and Orientation Services office regarding specific times and dates.  At orientation you will meet with your advisor, register for classes, and have your ID made.  For more information, please visit New Student Orientation.
Transfer, Other Undergraduate, and Graduate Students:

Contact Your Advisor

Transfer and Other Undergraduate Students:

Locate your advisor here.  Your advisor will give you academic advice and course recommendations. After you have met with your advisor, you will be cleared to register on myMemphis.

NOTE: For questions regarding prescribed (pre-major) courses or COMPASS testing, call 901-678-2028, or visit Transitional Academic Studies (TRAC) in 212 Wilder Tower.

Graduate Students:

Graduate degree seeking students should contact the department of their major for advising. After meeting with your advisor, you will be cleared to register on  myMemphis.

Graduate non-degree seeking students may register without advisor clearance.

Register for Classes Follow the instructions at: http://www.memphis.edu/registrar/student/register/.

Before you will be permitted to register, you will need to initialize your account through http://iam.memphis.edu using the twenty digit account code included with your letter of acceptance.  If you have lost the account code, you will need to contact the IT Helpdesk at 901-678-8888 to have a code assigned.  After you've completed this step you will be assigned a Universal User ID (UUID) and password.  NOTE:  Do not confuse your UUID and your U-Number (Banner ID) - they are different and used differently.
Pay Your Fees The deadlines and payment information can be found at: http://www.memphis.edu/registrar/student/register/. Your registration is subject to cancellation and a $100 late fee will be assessed if you have not satisfied fees by the stated deadline.
Get Your ID Card After you register, you should have your student ID made at the Student ID Office on the 5th floor of Wilder Tower. The first few days of class are very busy!
